The description
This product is a packet of four black cat sandwich cookies (2 x cocoa flavor, 2 x cheese flavor) from Kaldi Coffee Farm. It was priced at 429 yen including tax.
The good
There aren't always a lot of Halloween-themed goodies here in Japan, so I'm always a bit excited when I see them. Kaldi Coffee Farm has this four pack of sandwich cookies available at the moment, and the packaging is a huge selling point. It's designed like a little "Halloween house" with imagery of black cats and pumpkins making it really feel like the spooky season is upon us. The actual cookies are cute, too. Two are a cheese flavor, and two are a chocolatey cocoa flavor, and they're both printed with a black cat footprint on them. I think these would be great for a cookie loving friend, family member, or co-worker who loves all things Halloween-themed.
The not so good
Although this product is a fun gifting option, I do think if you're looking at it from a simple contents perspective then it is kinda expensive at 429 yen for four cookies. In saying that, the packaging is so cute that you have to take that into consideration, and obviously it bumps up the price a little bit. Overall though, a cute, fun, seasonally-themed item for any expats living in Japan who are missing Halloween goodies that they'd be able to purchase in their home countries. Not sure how long these will be around for, so if they sound good to you I'd recommend popping into your nearest Kaldi store ASAP. Happy eating!
