Tanabata hanachozu

There's a shrine in Nagaoka called Kinpu Shrine, and it's one of my favorites locally for a few reasons -- especially their awesome hanachozu displays that change on a monthly basis or thereabouts.

I stopped by over the weekend and they had this lovely Tanabata themed display featuring doll depictions of Orihime and Hikoboshi, the two star crossed lovers at the center of the tradition. I loved the color choices of the flowers surrounding them, too!

I would highly recommend stopping by here if you're in the area, since they really do a fantastic job with the hanachozu and various other decorations, such as their windchimes which are also up at the moment.

Hope all of your Tanabata wishes come true!
