The description
This product is an earl grey and white chocolate muffin, and it's available from Tully's Coffee stores for a limited time. It was priced at 355 yen including tax.
The good
As a big tea lover, this new earl grey and white chocolate muffin from Tully's was something that immediately piqued my interest. It's quite a decent-sized muffin, and you can immediately see the chunks of white chocolate on the top before you bite in -- that's always a good sign in my book! The muffin itself was nice and fresh tasting, with the immediate aroma of earl grey tea being quite noticeable, and I think pairing it with white chocolate was a nice way to add some sweetness to offset the tea's earthiness. A very pleasant combination!
The not so good
I always think to myself that if I had an oven, I could bulk bake similar muffins at a fraction of the cost. I haven't really tried my hand at toaster oven baking, but maybe that's something I should look into -- 355 yen for a muffin is still pretty pricey, even when they are a decent portion size and tasty. In saying all of that, I would still recommend this muffin to any tea lovers out there. It pairs well with a morning coffee, and I think the flavors of earl grey and white chocolate are very complementary to one another. Keep an eye out for it at your local Tully's store if it sounds appealing to you -- happy eating!
