The description

This product is a white azuki ice bar, and it's a limited time offering from the Imuraya brand. I got this from 7-11, and it was priced at 151 yen including tax.

The good

This is a fun alternative to the usual red bean ice bars if you're wanting something similar enough to the classic favorite, but something a little different. It uses white azuki beans from Hokkaido, plus sugar and Okhotsk salt, and the combination works really well -- it's not overly sweet, and the addition of a little salt seems to enhance all of the flavors. Price is pretty reasonable IMO at 151 yen including tax, and the whole thing is only 160 calories, making it quite a reasonable on the waistline dessert.

The not so good

I know not everyone is the biggest fan of beans sneaking their way into desserts, so if you're not big on the earthy kinda flavor they exhibit then obviously steer clear of this one! ;) That little note aside, I really enjoyed this product! I thought it was a fun variation to the usual red bean ice bars, with a great flavor and pleasant, unique texture. Definitely keep an eye out for it at your nearest convenience store or supermarket if it sounds good to you -- not sure how long it's set to be around for. Happy eating! :)
