Celebrating omurice

If there's one comfort food you'll find on plenty of menus across Japan, it's omurice! November 5th is Omurice Day, so if you need a chance to celebrate the popular dish then today's the day!

I'm not the biggest omurice fan myself, but it's definitely a favorite with my kids, so I can absolutely understand the appeal! They love the combo of egg, rice, and ketchup, as I think most kiddos do. My personal favorite way to enjoy it, though, is with demi-glace sauce instead of the usual ketchup. It's a nice alternative makes the dish feel a little more indulgent and adult!
