A spot for windchimes in Nagaoka

If you want an easy place to visit to enjoy some windchimes in Niigata Prefecture, I would definitely recommend visiting Kinpu Shrine in Nagaoka. It's walkable in under 20 minutes from Kita-Nagaoka Station, and it's one of my favorite shrines for their variety of seasonal displays. Their windchime tunnel is up now and will probably be there through August, and they also do some fantastic hanachozu throughout the year. Right now, theirs is filled with hydrangeas in various different colors!

One thing I really enjoy about windchimes in Japan is the whole concept that they're a way to "think yourself cool" via their peaceful sound. That might be a stretch on some of the sweatier summer days here (let's be honest, when it's stinkin' hot it's stinkin' hot) but they look so pretty and provide some soothing auditory fun!

Are there any good spots for windchimes in your local area?
