Japan's fascination with all things mini

One thing I've noticed during my years here is just how much Japan loves miniature things. I've visited places like Tobu World Square in Tochigi, where famous landmarks from around the world are recreated on a much smaller scale. Seeing mini versions of the Eiffel Tower, Tokyo Skytree, and entire cityscapes, complete with tiny trains, cars, and people, is quite an experience.

I've also enjoyed exhibitions by miniature artist Tatsuya Tanaka, whose creations turn everyday objects into little works of art. A broccoli floret becomes a tree, a sponge becomes a swimming pool, and so forth.

It seems to be a running theme in Japan, and one I've come to appreciate. There's something pretty fun about seeing an entire world captured in miniature!

Do you know of any other "mini" places in Japan?
