Cheap and cheerful fave Saizeriya raises prices
One of the things I love about living here is how eating out doesn't mean spending a fortune, and Saizeriya is a perfect example. The restaurant chain is a fave of my family's for affordable pasta, pizza, and other comfort food, so it's an easy choice when we want something cheap and cheerful.
However, even Saizeriya can’t escape rising costs forever. Yesterday, the chain raised their menu prices by an average of 6%, with increases of up to 10% at some locations where operating costs are higher. It's the first comprehensive price hike since the company went public in 1998, excluding a minor adjustment in 2020.

Rising food and energy costs are behind the decision, which seems to be common these days.
Interestingly, the announcement received a warm response from customers on social media. Instead of any kind of backlash or complaining, many folks expressed support, with some even saying they'd happily pay more to keep the restaurant going. I can appreciate that sentiment, since if a modest price increase helps Saizeriya stay around for years to come, it seems like a reasonable trade-off!
