My son recently became fascinated with the idea of a marble run, and after looking on Amazon Japan I found a few options that were reasonably priced. The one I settled for is brightly colored, with lots of different attachments for the marbles to go through. It comes with a LOT of marbles, too -- three different types (clear, solid color, and a marbled variety) so there is no shortage of those to worry about. Because it's a fairly large set, it's also suitable as a multi-player toy. Both my daughter and son have enjoyed playing against each other to see whose marble makes it through the course the fastest.

If you do order this, keep in mind that it ships from China and it came separately from the rest of my Amazon order. It wasn't a really long wait, but if you're expecting the regular speediness of a local warehouse dispatch you might end up disappointed. The box was also a bit banged up (no damage to the inside components) as the actual product box was just wrapped in a polymailer bag rather than a separate cardboard box. Also, I had my husband put this together as I'd tried and the instructions just weren't clicking with my brain...I don't know if that's a commentary on the instructions or my lackluster comprehension ability!
