This product is the newly-released Black Thunder in a bite-sized coconut flavor. I found it at my local 7-11 store, and it was priced at 138 yen including tax.
The good
When I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive chocolatey treat, Black Thunders are always up there for the taste and value for money aspects. I also appreciate that they're constantly releasing new flavors, and this coconut one really feels like a perfect one for the summer season. I really enjoy the bite-sized format, and they pack in the coconut flavor in three ways -- via coconut chips, coconut flavored cookie pieces, and coconut paste -- so if you love all things coconut then this is the sweet treat for you. The price is great at only 158 yen including tax, too.
The not so good
The chocolate outer coating melts pretty quickly, so I'd advise eating these in a cooler setting, otherwise it can end up being a pretty messy affair. Overall though, I think this is a really fun, summery-feeling Black Thunder release, the price is quite reasonable, and I loved that they incorporated coconut in so many ways for that tropical island feel. Even the packaging is quite cute and elicits those warm-weather feelings. Keep an eye out for this at your nearest convenience store if you think you would also enjoy it!
