The description

This product is a four pack of Hokkaido Tokachi Milk Melon Yogurt (Meiji brand) and I purchased it from my local Aeon supermarket. It was 297 yen including tax.

The good

Melon is a flavor that I wouldn't say is very popular at all in my home country, but here in Japan it pops up in loads of ways. This Hokkaido Tokachi Milk Melon Yogurt is one of them, and it's honestly a hit with my entire family, so I'm not mad about it. I've mentioned it before here on City-Cost, but I'm a big fan of regional cuisine and local specialties. This yogurt incorporates dairy from Tokachi in Hokkaido, and also uses domestic melon juice, so it gets two ticks of approval there. The price isn't bad either, for four tubs of yogurt, and it contains lactic acid bacteria which is fabulous for your digestive health if you needed some incentive to purchase it.

The not so good

I know that I mentioned above that the product incorporates domestic melon juice (yay!) but the amount of that is only 1%, which feels kinda measly (boo). It still gives the product a good melon flavor, though, so I guess I can't complain about it too much. Overall, this is a solid yogurt product for those who enjoy melon flavored things, and as a big fan of Hokkaido dairy products I also feel like it's great quality and has a great taste. Keep an eye out for it at a supermarket near you if it sounds appealing -- happy eating, and enjoy! :)
