Along with the myriad of sweet potato foods that hit store shelves around this time of year, there are also drinks that help you get your seasonal fix. This imo milk tea from Family Mart is cheaper than a cafe drink at 290 yen including tax, and it's fun if you like texture in your drinks! You'll see it comes with a thick straw similar to what you get with boba drinks, and that's because it has small pieces of actual sweet potato in the drink -- it's definitely something different! The actual milk tea part has a sweet potato flavor to it as well, which I liked. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys sweet potato flavored things and doesn't mind texture in their drinks.

I know plenty of folks out there who would baulk at this because of the sweet potato chunks in the drink -- if you're someone who doesn't like texture in your beverages of choice then I'd recommend steering clear of this one. It is also fairly pricey for a small-ish sized drink from a convenience store, even if it is more cost effective than going somewhere like Starbucks for a seasonal drink. Overall though, I thought this was fun and unique, and it definitely appealed to me as a sweet potato fan. I'm not sure how long it's set to be around for, so pop into your nearest Family Mart store sooner rather than later if it sounds good to you. Happy drinking!
