You know Christmas is coming in Japan when Colonel Santa appears!

There are a few different signs in Japan that Christmas is on the horizon, even if it's not an official holiday here. Trees go up in certain areas, winter illuminations often have festive motifs, and 100 yen stores fill up with decorations, cards, and so forth available to purchase.


One of the most "only in Japan" signs though? The iconic jolly man below!

At some KFC stores (maybe all of them?!) I've seen Colonel Sanders (or shall we call him Colonel Santa?!) out the front during December. I think he's such a good fit for giving out those festive vibes, since he really does look like jolly St. Nick!
