Things I didn't try early on: A car safari

There are a whole host of experiences I've had here that I don't think I could ever have in my home country, whether it's because they simply don't exist, or because there's some kind of legal/regulatory framework that prevents it. I don't think I'd ever seen any kind of "car safari" experience in my home country, but once I had my first child here I was always on the lookout for interesting, family-friendly kinds of experiences. The Gunma Safari Park is a really cool one, and you can self-drive or take a bus around the park if you don't have your own vehicle.


Many of the animals get very close to your car, too! We had zebras walk out in front of us, and an antelope rubbing its antlers on our side mirrors!
