A little piece of Australia arrives at a Saitama Zoo

As an Aussie living in Japan, there are some things from home that never lose their appeal, and koalas are definitely one of them. I was pretty excited to read about two new Australian arrivals settling into Saitama Children's Zoo in an article via the Japan Times yesterday.

Not Arnold and Bubbles, but you get the gist...

There's Arnold, a two-year-old male, and Bubbles, a three-year-old female, who were born in Queensland and arrived in Japan in July. They're the zoo's first new koalas from Australia in around a decade!

Maybe our resident Saitama City-Cost blogger @BigFamJapan can go and say hello to them for me!!
