An early start to Kakigori season at Gusto

One of the few redeeming qualities of the summer months here is kakigori, and I look forward to enjoying it each year. Gusto stores are getting a head start on the season with a couple of kakigori offerings, one of which is this blue cream soda flavored offering. I feel like it's a pretty massive portion size for the price, and it's most definitely a shareable dessert. If you don't want the full sized option, they also have a mini version which is cheaper at 384 yen including tax. They also have add-on bits and pieces that you can have with the kakigori, such as popping candy (my kids choice) which was an extra 109 yen including tax.

If you're a seasonal stickler, you might be thinking "it's far too early for kakigori!" and perhaps that's justifiably so. We've been having some decently warm days, though, and I don't really think there's a bad time for kakigori (maybe when it's the dead of winter...) so I'm not mad about it. Overall, I thought this was a fun addition to the Gusto menu. Loved that you could get it in two different sizes, and the add-on options make it a bit more customizable and fun for the kids and kids at heart.
