This is definitely up there in the uniqueness stakes when it comes to ice bars, so if you appreciate the wild and wacky side of Japan this is one to look out for. I liked the presentation of the packaging, and thought that the little edamame characters were adorable. Very cute from a marketing standpoint! The ice bar is also pretty low in calories, clocking in at only 128 calories for the entire thing. If you need a little pick me up and you want something that won't be too filling, this is a nice option for that.

If you don't like earthy-flavored items, this is one to steer clear of. It definitely feels like it leans more towards a savory taste than sweet, so that's another side to the product that takes a bit of getting used to -- especially if you're expecting more of a "desserty" feel since it's an ice bar. I do think that it's fun to try it though because it is so different, so if you appreciate some of Japan's more quirky flavors then it's interesting to give this one a try. Pop into your nearest Family Mart while you can if it sounds appealing to you!
