Expectation versus reality

This is such a first world problem, I know, but I think Japan has really skewed how I feel about getting something that looks different than a picture does. I find that almost always, what you see on a menu (or plastic food display) is just how that food comes out, so there's no real disappointment when you're served something.

For instance, this smoothie I got from McDonalds looked like it was supposed to be fully packed on top with blueberry pulp, whereas what I got was a small drizzle!

Expectation versus reality photo

Again, such a first world problem, but I do wonder if this has happened to any other expats here. I think Japan's overall commitment to things like presentation and things looking as they are depicted means I'm much more shocked when expectation doesn't meet reality.
