What's on for families in Japan this coming March
What's on for you and your family for March? A recent survey by Act Indy Inc., which operates the family outing website IkoYo, found that many households are eager to embrace the warmer weather while celebrating important milestones together.
Topping the list of activities families want to take part in is cherry blossom viewing and park picnics, with 64.1% of respondents choosing those options. The results showed that both parents and children alike are keen to spend time outdoors enjoying nature, and the activity's accessibility (often just a short trip to a nearby park) makes it extra appealing for families with young children and those on a budget.

Enjoying the blossoms came first, and in my opinion there's no great surprise there!
Spring break outings and family trips ranked second, with 54.5% of respondents hoping to travel or enjoy special excursions together.
Traditional celebrations also remain a big part family life. More than half of respondents (52.5%) said they plan to hold celebrations or special meals for Hinamatsuri (Girl's Day).
At the same time, March is a period of major transition. About 37.3% of families reported focusing on preparations for school or kindergarten entry, while others plan to redecorate their homes, celebrate graduations, or begin new lessons and activities.
Do any of the survey results align with what you expect to get up to in the coming month?
