Interesting, almost macaron-like chocolate treat

I didn't know what a bouchee was before trying this product, but it looks very similar to a macaron in that it has a filling sandwiched between two cakey pieces. The texture of the cake was quite light and fluffy (not crispy like a macaron), so I think most people would probably enjoy it. The chocolate flavor of this is good, too -- it's included in both the cakey outer and the cream, so it certainly packs in the chocolatey taste. It's also pretty cheap at only 129 yen, which is less than most convenience store treats!

The price is pretty inexpensive for this, but there are some Chateraise desserts that are similarly priced but bigger if you're wanting more bang for your buck. That point aside, though, this is a solidly tasty chocolatey treat, and I liked that it offered something different than some other cake or biscuit products in terms of its unique texture. If you like trying new, chocolate flavored things I would suggest keeping your eyes peeled for this one if you have a Chateraise near you. Happy eating, and enjoy!
