Family Mart has a Hawaiian fair happening in their stores at the moment, and there is a solid lineup of both sweet and savory items to choose from. On the sweet front I couldn't go past this macadamia chocolate whip malasada, and I really loved it. The outer dough part feels very donut-esque, and the inner filling is a macadamia chocolate cream. The outside is coated with a cocoa-sugar combo, and I think every element worked together nicely. Loved the nuttiness of the macadamia flavor, which is something I don't often see used in desserts here very much. I'd recommend giving it a try!

The outer cocoa-sugar coating means that this can be a touch messy to eat, so just keep that in mind -- I'd recommend enjoying at home rather than at the office, for instance! Also, since this is a limited time only offering, you're only going to be able to get your hands on it for a short window, which can be a bummer if you really enjoy it. Overall though, I think this is well worth trying, and I really loved the flavor combination. Head in to your nearest Family Mart store soon if it sounds appealing to you -- happy eating! :)
