This is a really fun new pie offering from McDonalds, particularly if you're someone who likes different flavors and textures all melding together. The outer pie crust has a pinky color to it (very spring-like!) and the inner filling has a bean paste/jam, strawberry sauce, and a chewy mochi layer. I feel like all of the components worked really well together, and the taste was great. An appropriate-feeling release for the season, and the price felt quite reasonable too at only 200 yen plus tax. Well worth trying if you have a McDonalds store nearby.

I think this is a great pie for folks who like various flavors and textures, but on the flip side I think it would be a deterrent to some people because of that. It all comes down to personal preference and knowing what you enjoy. I do think it's a fun release for spring, though, and the price is pretty budget-friendly at right on 200 yen. I'm not 100% sure about how long this will be available for, so if it sounds appealing to you be sure to head into your nearest McDonalds store while you can to give it a go.
