Are you opting for DIY or printed Nengajo (or none at all)?
Back home, December usually means sitting at the table with a stack of Christmas cards, wondering if they'll arrive in time and whether anyone still checks the mail. Living in Japan, I've found that while Christmas is festive, the real card-sending moment comes a week later with New Year's cards, or nengajo.

A recent survey by Futaba Corporation looked at how people here make their New Year's cards, and the results were perfectly split. Half of respondents design their cards themselves, while the other half used printing services.
Those who make their own cards often see them as an extension of themselves, with the process of writing messages in their own words being part of the meaning. Others prefer printing services for practical reasons. The quality is high, the process is quick, and you can order everything from your phone, which I think is a big consideration when work, family, and year-end obligations pile up!
If you're sending nengajo, are you a DIY or printed fan?
