If you want a seasonal cream puff fix at a cheaper price than places like Beard Papa, then this strawberry cookie cream puff from Family Mart is an excellent option to try! The crunchy choux pastry outer has a filling of strawberry cream and a strawberry sauce which contains actual strawberry pulp, so the strawberry flavor is really great and fresh-tasting. Price-wise, I feel like it's a sweet deal at only 230 yen including tax -- if you compare that to a Beard Papa cream puff, those typically sit closer to the 300 yen mark.

These are obviously pre-packaged and sent to convenience stores all around the country, so maybe compared to a Beard Papa choux cream then it's not going to be the same level of freshness and "made on the spot" vibes. In saying that, it still felt extremely fresh and flavorful, so I don't really have any major complaints. Obviously, one downside is that this is just a limited-time/seasonal offering, so you only have a short window of time to get your hands on it.
