The description

This product is the new "Thick Beef Cheese Loco Moco" from McDonalds, and it's a limited time offering from a seasonal Hawaiian range. It's 540 yen on its own.

The good

Summers in Japan often see Hawaiian-themed items pop up on menus at convenience stores, coffee shops, and even burger chains, and McDonalds are no exception to that. They have a selection of Hawaiian inspired goodies in their stores at the moment, including this Loco Moco burger. It consists of a beef patty, fried egg, cheese, lettuce, and a tangy "Hawaiian" barbecue sauce, and I think if you're looking for a burger with some staying power then this is a good option to consider -- it packs in plenty of protein via the beef/cheese/egg, so you will stay full for a while.

The not so good

As is the case with all limited time items, if you find yourself really enjoying it then you only have a short window of time to get your hands on it. If it sounds like something you absolutely must try, then I'd recommend heading in to your nearest McDonalds store sooner rather than later. Overall though, I think this combines elements of a burger that most people enjoy, and the Hawaiian barbecue sauce is a nice addition to brighten and liven it up a bit. Not sure exactly how long these will be available for, so get in while stocks last if you want to try it out. Happy eating, and enjoy! :)
