Honestly, it's hard to beat a lot of Chateraise's packaged desserts for their value for money aspect. At 140 yen for this cake, it's actually cheaper than a lot of convenience store offerings -- so if you're looking for maximum cost-effectiveness for store bought sweets I'd recommend checking them out. Taste-wise, this cake has a nice combination of flavors. I think chocolate and chestnut flavors are quite complementary to each other, and this product actually contains chestnut pieces inside it -- not just chestnut flavor. For the price, I was quite impressed!

This isn't a particularly large cake piece, but again, based on the price I don't have much to complain about -- I still think it represents fabulous value for money. I think maybe upping the ante with the chocolate part would've been nice, too -- perhaps adding a layer of chocolate coating or something so it had a more pronounced chocolate taste. This would have naturally increased the price, though, so it's really no biggie. Definitely worth a try if you like the combination of chocolate and chestnut flavors. Happy eating!
