A cool exhibition at the Niigata City Art Museum

If you have any interest in street art, there's a fun exhibition happening at the Niigata City Art Museum at the moment! It's called the Roadside Art Exhibition, and it has a whole bunch of different art pieces found on murals, signs, and more across the prefecture on display.

One of my personal favorites (because I see the real thing regularly!) is the display of the Matsuda Pet signs from Nagaoka. They're such a big deal that they even have a Wikipedia page dedicated to them!

Part of why I really liked this exhibition is because it makes you realize that art often surrounds you, even in places where you might not expect it. It's running until March 22nd 2026, and admission is 800 yen.
