If you enjoy melon pan but you're wanting a bit more oomph in terms of toppings or fillings, this offering from Family Mart is a great option to try. It's topped with a chocolate coating and has a milky cream filling, so it really elevates the product! I felt that it was much more indulgent-tasting than your standard melon pan, so if that's something you're craving then give this a go. I thought the price is really reasonable, too, at only 168 yen including tax. I was definitely happy with the value for money aspect!

This is a bit messier to eat than a normal melon pan, and the chocolate coating breaks off in pieces if you're not careful. As a result, I would recommend this for at home eating rather than on the go or at work to save yourself the stress! That small point aside, it's solidly tasty, a nice change from a regular melon pan, and it's reasonably priced to boot.
