This part of Tokyo was named the world's coolest 'hood for 2025

When I lived in Tokyo before moving out to Niigata, one of my favorite things to do was explore different neighborhoods. Get on the subway, stop at a random stop, and just wander the streets to see what there was to see. I thought it was a fun way to get the feeling for different areas, and I'm convinced there's a neighborhood to appeal to anyone, whether you're a bright lights and busy-feeling fan, or have more of a chilled out quiet preference.

If you're a book lover, you've probably heard of Jimbocho more than once, and this part of Tokyo was recognized this year by TimeOut Worldwide as the world's coolest neighborhood. The entire list is here if you want to peruse it, and you may even find somewhere in your home country featuring on it.
