Things to do during summer in snow country: visit a beer and ayu festival

Certain things have become quintessential signs of summer to me over the years here, and one of them is beer and ayu festivals. We have a couple of them that take place in our local area, and one of them is actually tomorrow if you're a Niigata resident and looking for something to do!
