Colors of May

If I had to pick one month that I love most in Japan, I would probably go with May. The weather is pleasant, being warm but not summer-hot-and-humid, and there is so much natural beauty to enjoy.

I feel like it's also a very colorful time of year, and I was reflecting on that when looking at some recent snaps on my phone from the month so far!

For instance, a local shibazakura festival in Uonuma is always one of my favorite May events to attend. I love the sight of all the flowers blanketing the ground!

It's also the time of year when koinobori are displayed at many places locally. One of my personal faves is at the Osaki Dam Park, which is such a tranquil and scenic spot.

Loved the combo of the koinobori and the actual koi!!

There are also some local fields with nanohana still in abundance, and I think the combo of the cheery yellows with the blue sky and green mountains is such a treat!

I hope you're enjoying the colors of May in your part of Japan!
