As someone who likes spicy noodles, I was immediately drawn to these Taiwanese style cup noodles at 7-11 recently. The price (213 yen including tax) was pretty reasonable, so I was curious to give them a go. The toppings for this cup noodle are pieces of meat and green onion, and the amount of meat in particular felt pretty generous for the price. The noodles themselves felt a bit lighter than some other cup noodle products, too, because they're not fried. Not that I ever think a cup noodle product is healthy, per se, but I guess it's a start ;) The spice level of this was good -- there was a nice kick, but it wasn't so spicy that it was making my taste buds feel like they were singed off.

If you are wanting a *really* spicy cup noodle, then you might find that this one falls a little flat. It was spicy, but not mouth-numbingly so. Overall though, I think this is a solid option from 7-11, and it was nice to have something different. The non-fried noodles and generous amount of meat pieces as toppings were a couple of the good selling points with this product. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to try something new or anyone who likes spicy cup noodle products. As it's a limited time only offering, it will probably only be available for a few weeks.
