Edamame and tofu soy milk soup

I was really skeptical of this soup which I had bought on the same shopping trip as this disaster of a meal. The other tofu based soup I tried first was awful so I was really worried when I went to eat this one. 

The look of it was as expected not much to be desired. I mean it is tofu in soymilk. just white on white. Most of the edamame sunk to the bottom as well, so none of that green popped up until digging in with a spoon. 

The packaging was also really wasteful. There was an extra bowl to pour the bowl of soup into. 

The taste was however surprisingly good. It was so good that I actually went back and bought this again later on. I was expecting it to be bland because of the soy milk, but it had a very nice dashi flavor. The edamame also gave it some great texture. I really like this one.
