Halloween Masquerade Party at Starbucks Japan
As you might know, Starbucks Japan goes with seasonal specials nearly every month. For sure, Halloween shouldn't be missing and this year Starbucks had some really nice stuff to offer.
Halloween Goods Collection
First of all, let's take a look to the goods collection which Starbucks Japan released for the Halloween season on October 11th. There were two mugs, one in a black cat design which was really cute. The other item was a ghost wearing a Starbucks apron and working as a member of coffee chain's staff.
Furthermore Starbucks released three plastic bottles in a Halloween design, each with different features. The first one was a bottle in a black cat design including a fluffy tail attached to the lid. The second was a purple ghost bottle with a ghost figure on top. For the last one Starbucks went with an easy Halloween design including orange and black colors such as a black cat and ghosts. The special feature here was an LED light at the top which makes the bottle pretty unique in the dark.
The mugs were priced 1,980 yen and 2,200 yen, while you had to pay 2,750 or 3,190 yen for the bottles.
Everything was pretty popular and quickly sold out. On the release date I went to different shops in the morning before work to get everything I wanted (for my customers), because they had already ran out of several goods shortly after opening.
One week later on October 18th Starbucks Japan released some more goods. You could get Frappuccino stands in two different colors - black and white. However, you couldn't simply buy them. You had to get them together with one of the Halloween Frappuccinos. The price here was 990 + tax (8% or 10% depending if you drink it in the shop or take it out).
Starbucks Halloween Drinks 2019
And there we already are: the Starbucks Halloween Drinks 2019. They started with a Frappuccino and Mocha on the first release date, October 11th. Another Frappuccino joined the selection on October 18th. And for sure, I tried them all!
1) Halloween Red Night Frappuccino
I first went with the Red Night Frappuccino which was red because of a sweet and sour berry sauce made out of raspberry, strawberry and cranberry. This was mixed together with white chocolate brownie, almond, white cream and topped with black cocoa powder. The taste was pretty sweet and it was quite heavy, but I really liked the combination.
2) Halloween Dark Night Frappuccino
The Dark Night version had similar ingredients, but became black with the help of a quite huge amount of black cocoa. Because of this it was not so sweet and I had the feeling of having a goma (black sesame) drink. It was an interesting combination, however if I could choose between the red and the dark version, I would prefer the red one.
3) Halloween Masquerade Raspberry Mocha
Last but not least, next to the two cold drinks Starbucks also offered a hot option for Halloween. I usually don’t drink coffee and was thinking about whether or not I should give it a try. But my friend told me there is a lot of milk inside so I got it – and surprisingly I really liked it. According to Starbucks' website the drink consists of espresso, milk, white mocha syrup and the same sweet and sour red berry sauce as the Frappuccinos.
Even though the goods are sold out at most shops already, the Starbucks Japan Halloween drinks will be available until October 31st. So if you haven’t tried them yet – hurry up!
