My Yokohama.

I have soon lived in Yokohama for 2 years, and I love it. Compared to my life in Tokyo, then it is a lot calmer and relaxing, but still have all the benefits of living in a big city, as Yokohama still is. Yokohama is home, a thing that I could never call Tokyo. I am slowly getting to feel more at home in my small apartment in Yokohama, then in my parents’ grand house in Denmark.

Yokohama has the perfect locations. In less than half an hour I can be in Tokyo and in less than half an hour I can be at the beach. It is the best of both worlds: the calm and the busy. And Yokohama itself is beautiful with its many hills (that I hate to walk up a warm summer day), the harbour and the many parks. Minatomirai is known as a very tourist place, however, it does not disappoint. I don't go to Minatomirai to sightseeing, but for the small park areas and cool events. My favourite thing to do is to get a drink from the nearby convenience store and sit at the green grass area looking at the ferries wheel, world porters and beyond.

In such a busy place, I still can feel like I am the only one sitting there. I can somehow keep out the noise and buzzing from the many people around me, and just enjoy.

This is just one of the many reasons I love Yokohama, and why I enjoy living here a lot more than living in Tokyo. Yokohama is my home and I think it will always be. Even if I am not here anymore, then it will still be in my heart.
