Kasukabe Station illumination

Kasukabe City's claim to fame is Crayon Shinchan, the quirky anime and manga franchise.  Other than the mischievous boy hero, the city has a lovely and ancient wisteria garden, Tokaen, and a station front street lined with wisteria arbors.

Every winter, the city dresses up the station front with a sparkling light display until December 25th. The rotary at the west exit gets decked out and you can see the Crayon Shinchan billboard on the right.

The wisteria trellises are graced with dangling blue lights that imitate the hanging blossoms.

When you are on the Tobu lines transiting through Kasukabe Station on your way to Tokyo or Nikko, it's worth a look.

If you miss it, you can always catch the display of moss flox in April, including Shinchan's cheeks (SFW)
