Shimizu Park Azalea Matsuri SPOT REPORT

Shimizu Park Azalea Matsuri SPOT REPORT photo

On Sunday, April 26th, the weather was just right, not too cold, not too hot, and sunny. After I aired out my linens and did some laundry, I took a break at Shimizu Park to take in the Tsutsuji Matsuri, the azalea festival. This event is supposed to run until May 6th. The park reported that the flowers were about 70% the day before.

Around the Azalea Cafe, the variety and abundance of blooms are impressive. But as you can see, the flowers are already starting to fall.

The weather report for Tuesday indicates sun in the morning and overcast in the afternoon. Wednesday will be mostly overcast, too. It's probably the last chance to see the azaleas in their full glory.
