The description
Suntory Triple Nama with an attractive can design that recalls the design of beer kegs is brewed with the triple decoction method. The beer is 5% alcohol.
The good
Suntory in spring 2023 released this beer, Suntory Triple Nama, which is 5% alcohol and brewed with the triple decoction method. The can design with its bold blue stripes resembles a draft beer keg. Triple decoction is a method in which a part of the mash is removed, boiled to a point to enhance the sugars, and returned to the brewing process. The resulting beer appears to be a pale lager with decent carbonation and a good head of foam. It's got a mild floral aroma and a little citrus flavor dominated by the corn.
The not so good
This isn't a bad beer, but I wouldn't recommend it. Sure, it's novel for the triple brewing method, but it doesn't really do much for me. It's got a lot of adjuncts - corn, sugar, and some other stuff that dominates the hop. Don't cheap out when you see the price as this one isn't worth it. Despite the lower price tag and the hype, it's less than mediocre. It's not truly awful, but it kind of tastes like wet cardboard and stale bread. Save your precious yen for a beer with more flavor and body than this one.
