Green DAKARA Salted Lychee and Yogurt is a flat drink in Suntory's DAKARA lineup. This canned version is available from vending machines. Another is in plastic PET bottles suitable for freezing.
The good
Green DAKARA is a great way to stay hydrated in the summer heat and humidity. This canned version available from vending machines, Green DAKARA Salted Lychee & Yogurt, combines the flavors of lychee and yogurt with grape, lemon, and grapefruit. It became available in June 2024. It's got a mild citrusy and subtle yogurt flavor. The sports drink has sodium to replenish the salt you lose through sweat. It's best chilled well before you drink it. I'd get this drink again as it is light and refreshing.
The not so good
There are two versions of Green DAKA Green DAKARA Salted Lychee & Yogurt. I happened to spot the vending machine version in an aluminum can. But research about the product reveals it also comes in a plastic PET bottle. I'll spring for the plastic version next time. The bottle is designed for easy freezing. It's a nice alternative to frozen treats to beat the summer heat and is cheap at 140 yen. I had expected the drink to have body as the label indicates yogurt. But it's simply a flavoring from lactic acid. It's thinner than I imagined but still good.
