The good
When I'm on the go and feeling peckish, I pick up sandwiches from convenience stores. They're cheap, usually under 350 yen, and tide me over until the next meal. I take a break on public seating or carry the item back to work. The inclement weather this spring precludes al fresco sammie enjoyment. I stopped by the Tully's Coffee at Kashiwa no Ha Campus, the "smart city" neighbourhood. The sandwich is served cold, but it's so full of flavour. It's crammed with ham, cheese, broccoli, and shredded carrots.
The not so good
I would get this sammie again. The ham, cheese, & salad sandwich is about the same size as a standard conbini sandwich. I have no complaints about this item. It is 410 yen, the high end for a ready-made sandwich, but I think it's good value. It's made with slices of heartier bread than that used for conbini sandwiches. The filling is substantial, too. The sandwich is dressed with both mayonnaise and Japanese-style Caesar salad dressing. And it comes with a seat, essentiallly. For a break from the rain, it's worth the price.
