Best Matcha Syrup and Pies with Green Tea, review!!!!

Though I have been to Shizuoka many times, this is probably my first time trying matcha products from Shizuoka Prefecture.

Unlike the matcha desserts that I've often found in Tokyo, the matcha Nanaya leaf pies that were sent to me in a set from the city of Makinohara were not too sweet for me, at least not to the extent that they would make you feel like you'd had too much sugar intake for one day.

The leaf pies really had deep taste of matcha, which is highly recommended then, for those people who have not tried it before.

While having a matcha-based dessert I tend to have some tea with it.  On this occasion I could try the deep-steamed sencha tea bags that came along with the leaf pies - the perfect match with matcha pies!! A very good combination for WFH afternoon tea. Hahaha!

The tea came from Grinpia, a tea farm in the city of Makinohara.

As for the matcha syrup, actually, I am not usually a syrup person but this one blew my mind.

It is highly recommended to use this syrup with 白玉 - shiratama dango mochi balls.

For those of you have not tried matcha leaf pies, Makinohara's green tea, and matcha syrup (all pictured below), you should get them asap!!!!!!
