How to print documents or photos in Konbini in Japan

I recently got this urgent experience in printing a document but I was out of the office that time so I ask someone about how to print documents in Japan, the easiest way. So I just discovered that there was actually a photocopy machine inside the convenience store that you can use for it.

There are numerous ways to print papers using this machine, but at that time since the file I need was in Usb I choose that one.

It is actually easy to do that when you start using the machine as you can change the language setting to your chosen language. Once you did that the process is easy to follow. Just touched that language button in the screen and all those japanese options will change.

You can try printing in Lawson,family mart and seven eleven. To give you an idea of costs of printing and scanning, please read the following;

 10 yen for all paper sizes ( A3, A4, B4 and B5 )

for color, A3 size would cost you 80 yen and 50 yen for the other paper sizes

You can also print in photo photo though its a little expensive it cost 120 yen per piece for A4 size.

When it comes to scanning it would cost you 20 yen and finally when it comes to sending out a fax ( yes, it still exist in Japan! ), it cost 50 yen.

I think the price of this services is reasonable and really very convenient for people who don't own printer in their houses.

Actually, another way of printing paper other than using a usb or sd card is to make an account on your chosen convenience store.You upload a file to your account, go to a nearby store and print it out at the copy machine. This seems to be available in most, if not all, stores. But take note, you can only print  in PDFs and images format, not docs (although it's usually better to print via pdf, to maintain the information in the document.)

In paying for the services, you dont have to go to the cashier, there is a slot where you can put coins in there. Just dont forget to get your change which comes out a small opening at the bottom of the machine.

I really find this service in conbini very helpful. I hope this can also help anyone who needs to print  in urgent cases.
