The description New drink from Family Mart available since end of July. 500 ml for roughly 150 Yen. A mixed cold drink made from jasmine tea and milk from the maker Iyemon.
The good
The tea latte has a nice light flavor. As it comes cold it is perfect for the hot Japanese summer. Usually you can see Matche latte or cafe latte drinks at the convenience store. Jasmin tea latte is a nice new variant for everyone that wants to try something new. The tea is sweet but not too sweet. You can drink the whole bottle without getting sick of the taste. Jasmin tea is said to have positive effects such as a relaxing effect and a positive effect on high blood pressure. The bottle has the usual 500 milliliter conbini size so you can easily carry it around.
The not so good
The tea is sweet and comes with a lot of sugar. It has 40 calories per 100 milliliters. So the whole bottle has 200 calories. You should consider this drink as a snack and not consume it regularly. Also the price is rather high for a 500 milliliter bottle. Other drinks are considerably cheaper. As it’s only available at family mart you cannot get it cheaper in supermarkets or drug stores. Jasmin tea has only little caffeine so you can’t expect a waking effect as with coffee latte or matcha latte. It is only available as a cold drink, you can’t get a hot version.
