The description
A convenient pack of three Mitarashi Dango by Yamazaki Bread, each with four small white rice dumpling balls, glazed with a sweet soy sauce glaze, on a stick.
The good
Mitarashi Dango famously have their origins in a tea house in Kyoto. While I have never tasted the original ones, I can say that the Yamazaki Bread Mitarashi Dango have an authentic taste. I also like that the pack is a convenient size. Moreover, they come ready to eat so there is no preparation in them. You do not have to reheat them, but some people do by placing them over steam for a couple of minutes. (I don't think you can microwave them, but I am no expert). It is also useful that they can be stored at room temperature before opening.
The not so good
There is only three skewers in the Yamazaki bread pack of mitarashi dango. There are four children in my family so inevitably I end up buying two packs to make sure there is one for everyone. But there are other brands that have four in a pack, but I don't see those as often in the shops so I end up buying the Yamazaki bread ones. They are readily available in the stores in my area. Overall the pros outweigh the cons, so this is a product I buy relatively frequently. Particularly early in the month when there are three "mitarashi dango" days in a row and supermarkets tend to have their mitarashi dango in prime viewing locations!
