A day to audit personnel and labor practices

Today, and June 6th annually, is Personnel and Labor Day 人事労務の日 in Japan. It is an anniversary created by Masatoshi Watanabe, a certified social insurance and labor consultant who heads the Nansō Labor Management Center and Ichinan Management Support in Chiba Prefecture.

The June 6th date comes from a bit of playful "goroawase" of 6/6, which can be read as "ro (6) umu (6)" which means "labor". The purpose of the day is to encourage companies to review and reflect on their personnel and labor practices at least once a year, strengthening relationships between employers and employees and promoting healthier workplaces.

Another goal of the anniversary is to raise public awareness of the role of social insurance and labor consultants (社労士), who support companies in navigating complex labor laws and employment systems.
