Bruce Osborn and Parent and Child Day

One of the commemorations on July 26th annually caught my attention because, frankly, it was registered by a person with a foreign name. I was curious so I did an Internet search of the person, Bruce Osborn, and found his website with the most fabulous series of "parent and child" photos.

"Parent and Child/ren" is known as "oyako" in Japanese and today, thanks to American photographer Mr Osborn, is Parent and Child Day 親子の日 in Japan. He established the day with the hope of encouraging people to reflect on that relationship and appreciate the life they received from their parents.

It is a reminder of the special bond between parents and children. It is on the fourth Sunday of July annually, which is also the date of "Siblings Bond Day". Combined, they create a moment to celebrate families as a whole.
