The cake is larger than it looks. There is something about it that makes it look small, but we got six generous slices out of it. I love the fresh cream. It is generously layered on top of the cake as well as within the sponge. The sponge is light and fluffy. There is a generous number of fruits both on top and within the cake. The fruits include strawberries, kiwi, grapes and pear. The fruit adds freshness as well as color. It also balances out the sweetness. I like that there is such a mix of flavors and textures. The cake is also visually satisfying.

Unfortunately, the price is only an estimate. I didn't get the receipt and much to my surprise, they don't list the prices on their website. I took for granted that I could get the price off the website and was disappointed that they don't share prices online. I did find a number of posts online; reviews with prices, but none of them were for this eponymous Mon Plaisir cake. While the Mon Plaisir whole cake is attractive and enjoyable, there are a few aspects that may not appeal to everyone. The biggest issue is that it follows a fairly traditional Japanese fresh cream and fruit cake formula. Although, I do think it offers more fruit than the average cake of this kind.
