The description
This product is a large jar (680 grams) of tomato and basil tomato sauce from Italy, suited to flavoring quick pasta dishes, and sold in Gyomu supermarkets.
The good
This is the third of the Di Vita range pasta sauces I have reviewed, and it is the cheapest of them all. It only costs 408 (before tax) for a 680-gram jar. Working out at just 0.6 yen per gram. You won't get much better than that. The best part is that despite the affordable price the taste has not been compromised. It is a really good pasta sauce in my humble opinion. As with all of Di Vita's sauces the size is perfect for my family of six. Other sauces available in regular supermarkets are usually so small I have to buy at least two to make dinner for six of us.
The not so good
I really am very happy with this product so it is hard to critique it. I suppose the biggest 'negative' is that it is only available in Gyomu supermarkets, as far as I am aware. If you do know of anywhere else that sells it, please do comment with that information. Another potential negative is that the jar is glass. I have never personally dropped one, but I have banged some over the years and thankfully they've never cracked. Also, although this size is ideal for my family, some people might find it too big. But it can be refrigerated after opening if you use it within a day or two of opening. Please check the package for instructions.
