In honor of the sushi robot

One of the anniversaries of July 3rd annually is Sushi Robot Day 寿司 ロボットの日 in Japan. It was created by Suzumo Kiko, a Tokyo based company known for developing sushi robots. The date of the anniversary is a nod to the day that founder Kisaku Suzuki officially named the world's first sushi robot.

The 'sushi robot' which was first developed in 1981 was revolutionary and helped popularize sushi by making production faster and more accessible. Their first model could produce 1200 rice balls per hour, greatly supporting the growth of conveyor-belt sushi restaurants in Japan and abroad. Today, their machines are used in more than 90 countries.
