The description
A pack of eight of Lawson’s Rich Milk Bar - it is a simple, creamy ice cream bar made with 40% domestically sourced raw milk, so it has a rich dairy flavor.
The good
As a convenience store ice-cream, they are indeed very convenient! Eight in a pack is very convenient too. I presume these Lawson's Rich Milk Bar are at available at Lawson Convenience Stores around the country, so that is also a plus for this product. The size is good if you have a small freezer. They are about half the size of a regular pack of ice-cream, maybe even less than half. The individual sizes of the ice-cream are also a good size for a small child. The ice cream has a clean, milky aroma, and the texture is pleasantly firm without being icy. Because it uses 40% domestic raw milk, the flavor has a natural dairy richness that stands out compared to lighter, more sugary milk bars. It melts in the mouth smoothly and evenly.
The not so good
I picked this up because I thought it would work out at an economical price, but they have increased the price significantly this year. Last year I would get change from a 500 yen coin. This year, it costs 518 yen. Which may sound cheap working out at just 65 yen per milk bar, but they are very small. However, in saying that, I was buying them for a school walking group and having eight in the pack was very convenient. Most ice cream packs offer only five or six, which wouldn't have been enough and so I would have ended up buying two packs, adding to the cost. So, on balance, the price wasn't too bad for the situation in hand! But if you are craving more than a couple of bites of ice-cream, a larger standard size ice-cream bar is the way to go!
